FAILURE TO LAUNCH (and leave the nest) is becoming quite a problem with children in their 20-30’s who just won’t move out of home. In the case in this story, the family took their son to court to get an order for him to move out!! Drastic measures in dire times.
Whether it’s an economic or emotional problem is up for debate, however I will hedge my bets and say it’s a bit of both.
Raising children to be independent and self sufficient is part of parenting. However, bringing that to fruition and having children leave the family home has become difficult due to the unaffordable housing market, particularly in our capital cities.
Our leased tiny homes are offering one solution to this problem by helping young people live affordably but independently while they save. A more gentle way to launch than taking them to Court as was seen in this recent case in the USA.
